Repost from @sdotkristoff, who designed the sports section front for Dec. 10, 2017.
This sideline look was iconic to anyone watching a Bucs game during their early years: The floppy hat with the orange band and sunglasses worn by coach John McKay. Unfortunately, just as iconic: The 0-26 record to start the franchise. But on Dec. 11, 1977, the Bucs and their fans finally were winners.

She was a feral child, neglected beyond belief in a Tampa Bay area home. Ten years ago, she was adopted by a family that would try to get her to love and trust for the first time.
A decade later, we return to the Girl in the Window, the heart-breaking story that won the Pulitzer Prize.

Even on a rainy holiday week, some of us will try to take advantage of our gorgeous Florida beaches. Here, Ted Harrisberger watches his family race for the car as blustery rain and wind rolls in at Redington Shores on Thursday. Harrisberger and his family ventured to the beach from Tampa for Thanksgiving day, but decided to pack it in as the weather turned for the worse. Photo by @lorenelliottphoto #BeachesofInstagram

Front page of the @tampabaytimes for Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017. Mayor Rick Kriseman wins re-election in St. Petersburg, Fla. Mid-day, news broke that former star pitcher Roy “Doc” Halliday died when his plane crashed in the Gulf of Mexico in Pasco County. The page was designed in advance for the election, but once Halladay’s death was announced, everything on the page shifted down to allow for the overplay treatment of the fatal accident.
Made four pies to get one that looked good enough to feature on the cover of next week’s @tampabaytimes issue all about PIES. I learned a ton. And just in time for this new emoji: 🥧! Recipes + a gazillion pie crust tips coming soon.
