Greene asked why it would help Florida to have a governor who wants to fight the president. “It’s not about constantly fighting. I know the guy. I was shocked when he was running bc I never found him to be particularly bright, engaging.”
Greene how to pay for it: “It seems to me it’s not is there money, it’s how we’re spending our resources.” Against vouchers. “I have no problem experimenting with schools after we’re top 5 in the country.”
If one of the candidates had caught on ... and was the favorite to win it would’ve been a difficult thing.” Said he saw two things. 1) “None of the candidates had inspired” mass movement in their direction, and 2) none of them had raised a lot of money.
Greene on why he jumped in: “I really get the greatest thrill in life in giving back.” Thought he could make a big difference as a governor. “I’m 63 yo, there probably won’t be another open seat” for him to run again.
